Finally! J. Cole's first single to his highly anticipated debut album. Although it's not the hungry microphone ripping Simba we're all used to, Cole's attempt to produce a radio hit is far from a disappointment. It is obvious that the lyrics are dumbed down a large amount, but in order for Jermain to truly "blow up", this is a necessary step (but only for that ONE radio single). Remember, this is only a single and in no way will dictate what the rest of his album will sound like. Although the lyrics are not up to par with his previous work, he does a good job sampling Kanye West and making a jam for all of us to enjoy to the summer breeze.
