"The Mainstream is weak, the underground ain't dope no more!" Hip Hop is a surplus nowadays. So much music coming out... yet more than half of it will not be remembered. This site is dedicated to search through all Hip Hop and bring what we feel is the good stuff today. This isn't a website committed to bring you commercial rap or underground; this is strictly for the Hip Hop Heads. No bias regardless of popularity or abstractness. "Dope beats, Dope Rhymes, what more do ya'll want!"

Kid Cudi - Immortal
Mr. Ranger is drops yet another single off his third studio album, Indicud. We can expect this GOOD Music release to hit the shelves April 23rd, unless he continues to have issues with his label. Either way, I can't say I wouldn't love to have another Cudder album in my life.

Brother Ali - Shine On (Prod. Jake One)

Being that I'm currently working the slave shift at a restaurant, this song hits me more than anything that's dropped in the last month or so. If story telling in music was a sport, Brother Ali would be the offspring of Jordan and Kobe. Pretending to be an employee might just be my new ice breaker the next time I'm out on the hunt. Best of all, there's visuals to go along with the well written/produced single. Brother Ali's Bite Marked Heart drops Valentine Day, AKA Gillermo's Birthday.

Mac Miller - Jerry's Record Store

My initial thoughts on Mac Miller were, "Who is this weak ass white boy?". It wasn't until I heard some of the rappers/producers I respect work with the teen that I really gave the kid a chance. Since then, I've learned to really understand why so many people have respect for him. What I find so appealing about Mac Miller is his genuine nature. As weird as it sounds, the Pittsburgh native isn't a sell out. While Blue Slide Park is obviously filled with radio friendly material*, he still leaves room for that classic boom bap sound that hip hop heads love and spend countless hours riffling through mp3 and zip files to find (not to mention Miller's work has been party music from the get go, so its not as though he necessarily changed his style up once he hit the mainstream). Just listen to beat selection and lyric content on this track and tell me Miller put this track out in hopes that it would raise his salary. While "Jerry's Record Store" isn't one of my favorite Mac Miller joints, I decided to show the 2011 freshman some love on his latest release.

*Instead of hating on artist for putting out radio friendly singles, be happy for them that they've made it this far and that they've been given the opportunity to make a good living out of their undeniable talents. Jealousy is such an ugly trait.

Brother Ali & Jakeone - Writers Block (Prod. Jakeone)
Man is Brother Ali right about the music industry on this one... These two have always had chemistry when it comes to putting out classic hip hop records. Freeway had his turn with Jakeone's vintage beats, now it's Ali's time to put out an exclusively Jakeone produced album. Look out for Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color.

Jean Grae - U&Me&EveryoneWeKnow

Jean Grae definitely sounds better on these slow jazzy/soulful beats. I'm not crazy about her "Jaw Gymnastics", but when it comes to her conscious stuff, I'm a fan.

Phil Ade - You're The One (Video) + PhilAdeFridays#2
“Ohh that’s your best friend? Ok that’s all great / Don’t worry she’s in good hands, All State”
My favorite track off Phil Ade's A Different World gets the visual treatment. Crazy how his producer, Sunny Norway, cooks up an amazing beat from that sample in the beginning. Phil's also currently working on his second PhilAdeFriday project set to release in the near future. He has about 7 tracks done so far, with him rapping over other artist's beats such as Dom Kennedy's Dream to Me, Dr. Dre's Still Dre, and J Dilla's Won't Do. Below are two other tracks with original instrumentals meant for the DC native that will also be found on PhilAdeFriday2.

Wale - Ambition Singles

Here are several tracks that are suppose to land on Wale's next album, Ambition, set to hit the shelves November 1st. These tracks are ok... Wale's really making his way into the mainstream but I kind've hope the rest of album sounds better. Don't dumb it down too much Wale. Lotus Flower Bomb is a panty dropper!
Chuuwee - Dolla Bill Cosby

Really diggin' this Chuuwee dude. Flow is nice! Can't wait to see what he does on Statik's Population Control (October 25th).

The Game - Martians vs Goblins ft. Lil Wayne & Tyler the Creator
Since the Compton rapper dropped his 4th studio album today, I thought it would be proper if I shared one of my favorite tracks off the album. This track actually features OFWGKTA's head honcho, Tyler the Creator and I must say he's done an exceptional job on his two big features. The R.E.D. Album it self is a good piece of work, for the most part, with only a few songs I wasn't feeling the first time around. Heads up, you're going to want to watch Boyz In The Hood right after.Download Martians vs Goblins

Dee-1 - The One That Got Away ft. Mannie Fresh
Never heard of Dee-1, but his Top 10 Things Females Say and Do, and What They Really Mean post on TheWellVersed.com inspired me to give this man some shine on his last single/video. This track features Mannie Fresh (yes, the badass from Still Fly) and can be found on his latest project, I Hope They Hear Me Vol 2.

Phil Ade - Incense ft. Mac Miller
One of my new favorite emcees that I've been following from day one, is linking up with 2dopeboyz to drop his 3rd project, A Different World. The free album drops at 2dopeboyz.com next tuesday the 19th. As you can tell by the single, this shit is about to be fire.

Trae Tha Truth – I’m On ft Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale & Wiz Khalifa
I don't know what Trae Tha Truth did to get all these dope/popular emcee's featured on his track. When the hell did he get enough recognition and buzz to where he could get half of Outkast and some of the biggest names in the game right now (Wiz, Lupe, Wale) on a track? To be honest, I don't see what's so special about the guy but fuck it, another dope track at least.

Nikki Jean - Million Dollar Hotel ft. Lupe Fiasco & Black Thought
Never heard of Nikki Jean but this track has vintage sound written all over it. And she's pretty damn hot too haha. Couldn't ask for a better set of emcees to make the track complete. Download Million Dollar Hotel
Jay Rock - Hood Gone Love It ft. Kendrick Lamar (Video)
First single/video off Jay Rock's upcoming album Follow Me Home, which drops on the 26th. Even though Kendrick drops a proper verse, Jay Rock is allowed to give his career a boost and enlist Rick Ross and Birdman for the Remix. The new west is here to stay.

Wiz Khalifa - Reefer Party ft. Chevy Woods & Neako
I can't help it, this shit slaps. Nice production by Lex Lugar, accompanied by simple pot smoking lyrics brought to you by some of the music industry's biggest pot heads. Goddam that's a lot of weed!

Freddie Gibbs & Dom Kennedy - There They Go
Two of my favorite G's collaborating for the first time. Gansta! Look out for Dom Kennedy's From The Westside, With Love 2, which drops this Tuesday. Also, Freddie Gibbs and Statik Selektah recently released a collaborative EP titled, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away.

Nas - Nasty

Mr. Escobar's first single to his next album, which was suppose to be titled Life is Good. Not sure what the album title will be but Nas states that it will be some of his best work. If it's anything near as good as Stillmatic or God's Son, I'll be more than satisfied. By the sound of the first single, it looks as though this may be a possibility.

Common - Summer Madness (Prod. No I.D.)
Common over a No I.D. beat? Maybe we'll be fortunate enough to get another Resurrection from the Chicago rapper. This track is actually from a group called Cocaine 80's which consists of Common, No I.D., and some other artists I've never heard of (Steve Wyreman, Rob Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Makeba, etc).Download Summer Madness
