Wiz Khalifa - Reefer Party ft. Chevy Woods & Neako

I can't help it, this shit slaps. Nice production by Lex Lugar, accompanied by simple pot smoking lyrics brought to you by some of the music industry's biggest pot heads. Goddam that's a lot of weed!

Freddie Gibbs & Dom Kennedy - There They Go

Two of my favorite G's collaborating for the first time. Gansta! Look out for Dom Kennedy's From The Westside, With Love 2, which drops this Tuesday. Also, Freddie Gibbs and Statik Selektah recently released a collaborative EP titled, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away.

Nas - Nasty

Mr. Escobar's first single to his next album, which was suppose to be titled Life is Good. Not sure what the album title will be but Nas states that it will be some of his best work. If it's anything near as good as Stillmatic or God's Son, I'll be more than satisfied. By the sound of the first single, it looks as though this may be a possibility.

Second time around for my newest segment, Random Singles. Remember, these are artists that I have never heard about and know very little about (although they may features I'm familiar with). I'll try and bring you at least one of these post every month. My favorite of the bunch this time around is Aston Matthews. Dude is a G.

Gerald Walker - Shackles

Shaun Boothe - I Do it For You

Skyblew - The World Go By ft. Tab-One

Omar Linx - See You In Hell ft. Royce Da 5'9" & Joell Ortiz

Aston Matthews - May 31st ft. Schoolboy Q

Common - Summer Madness (Prod. No I.D.)

Common over a No I.D. beat? Maybe we'll be fortunate enough to get another Resurrection from the Chicago rapper. This track is actually from a group called Cocaine 80's which consists of Common, No I.D., and some other artists I've never heard of (Steve Wyreman, Rob Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Makeba, etc).

Must Have Music: Athletic Mic League - The Foundation

Athletic Mic League is a 7-man crew from Detroit that I was crazy about back in my middle school days. AML dropped their debut album, The Thrill Is Gone, back in 2001 and eventually died off later that decade after dropping a total of 4 albums. The only two artist that took off in their solo careers were Buff 1 and 14kt. The song I chose for MHM is actually a track that dropped back before they had dropped any studio albums and off one of their come-up projects titled, Thrill Of Victory, Agony of Defeat. This is a prime example of the days when the underground was dope and when talking shit about the music industry still wasn't cliche. Take a ride down one of my very own memory lanes with this one.

J. Cole - Work Out

Finally! J. Cole's first single to his highly anticipated debut album. Although it's not the hungry microphone ripping Simba we're all used to, Cole's attempt to produce a radio hit is far from a disappointment. It is obvious that the lyrics are dumbed down a large amount, but in order for Jermain to truly "blow up", this is a necessary step (but only for that ONE radio single). Remember, this is only a single and in no way will dictate what the rest of his album will sound like. Although the lyrics are not up to par with his previous work, he does a good job sampling Kanye West and making a jam for all of us to enjoy to the summer breeze.

A Tribe Called Quest: Beats, Rhymes, and Life (Trailer)

New documentary on the legendary trio. The Film pretty much covers why the group split up and the way their style of music guided hip hop into a new direction. For some reason, ATQC is boycotting the project but thats not enough to keep me from watching the movie.

Curren$y - She Don't Want a Man + Nardwar Interview

She Don't Want a Man: Spitta has to be one of the hardest working emcees in the game. Over the last two years he's put out about 5 great projects (Pilot Talk, Pilot Talk 2, Covert Coup, Etc.). This next single, "She Don't Want a Man", is his first off his next album, Weekend At Burnie's. The album drops June 28th and should be another impressive piece for Curren$y to add onto his portfolio.

Curren$y vs. Nardwar: If you haven't heard of Nardwar just yet, he's this loppy dude who interviews artists in the strangest manner. He pretty much finds a lot of information out about an artist, that not even some of the biggest fans may know, and then incorporates something that relates to the topic into the interview. You're better off just watching the video to understand what I mean. Nardwar also interviews J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Nas, Lil B, OFWGTA, etc.

CyHi Da Prince - Royal Flush 2 (Mixtape)

Solid project by the G.O.O.D. Music team member/2011 XXL Freshman. Good new era hip hop beats laced with clever rhymes, provided by Cyhi and his wise selection of features. A lot of attempts to simulate a mainstream sound but no real successes. Although the song with Trey Songz is not bad. Either way, Royal Flush 2 is a worthy download, even if you aren't a fan of Mr. West or his squad.
