Kendrick Lamar Signing

Kendrick Lamar may have just replaced one of the emcees on my personal favorite top 5 current emcee list. Fuck Gucci, but the two J. Cole tracks are amazing! If these two ever make a project together, it will destroy Watch the Thrown (Jay-Z and Kanye). Ok, maybe not, but those two better watch out or the real hip hop thrown may just be swooped.

Hieroglyphics - Reputation

So some new Hiero just dropped... This new song is cool but it didn't catch my attention too much. What did was the fact that I grew up on this crew. I kept wondering what song I would post as the bonus for the new single? BUT... there are too many favorites that I felt like just dropping both of their classic albums. Fuck it! It's not like you'll go out and purchase them anyways. Music labels sue me! Enjoy, true music fans!

Must Have Music: DJ Jazzy Jeff - For Da Love Of Da Game & Run That Back

You know i gotta' hit you with that fresh prince of ball air flow. Two of my favorite tracks off Jazzy Jeff's only two studio albums; The Magnificent (2004) and Return of the Magnificent (2007). Although I've never heard any of these rappers spit on anything else but Jef'f's wheels of steel, i'll give them credit for making some hip hop classics.

PS: For Da Love Of Da Game knows exactly why i'm spittin' for... I LOVE HIP HOP!!!

Mack 10 & Glasses Malone – Winning

Gotta' love that feel good music. Not a huge fan of Glasses Malone, but I'm down with Mack 10. First single off their up and coming album Money Music, which set to drop April 12th.

Josh Xantus- I Don't Care (rmx) f. Nipsey Hu$$le & Ghostface (Prod. Statik Selektah)

This cut dropped a while back with just Ghostface and Josh Xantus. Now Neighborhood Nipsey decided to take a ride on the track and add his own verse.

U-N-I - Muddy Jane f. BJ The Chicago Kid

West coast representatives, Thurzday and Y-O, dropping some new solid material. Kings Keep Marching EP set to drop February 15th.

TiRon - The Richers Remix (by Jonesin' For Sum Comfort Food)

A while back TiRon through up his MSTARD acapellas online for up & coming producers to make remixes to. Here's one of the many remix's done so far. 80's edition.

J. NiCs - Road To Riches (Video) & Slumber

Diggin' this dudes voice and the two tracks I've heard so far are solid. Both off his upcoming project Champion Rizla, dropping February 1st.

Panty Droppers: Raheem Devaughn - Woman

This song is a nice way to tell that special someone you appreciate them. Women: you can't live with them and you can't live without them. Off his sophomore album, Love Behind the Melody (2008).

Must Have Music: Eligh & Jo Wilkinson - Honor Me ft. Pigeon John

Very few artists can do what Eligh did here. Not only did he make an amazing song, but he made it with the help of his mother, Jo Wilkinson. Off their collaboration album, On Sacred Ground: Mother and Son (2009).

Detox Release Date

After over a decade of let downs and disappointed fans, the album we've all been waiting for will finally arrive on April 20, 2011 (Of course). Dre, don't let us down!

Good sign: the first single knocks!

Schoolboy Q - F*ck Ya Hip Hop!!! Ft. Rapper Big Pooh & Murs

This was suppose to be another single for Setbacks but when I got the actual project, it wasn't on it. I guess it's the non-Itunes bonus track. F*ck ya digital downloads!!!

Top Dog Entertainment is on a roll.

Mayday - Highs & Lows ft. Ace Hood

I haven't heard anything from this guy since his self-titled debut in 2006. Good to know his music is still up to par.

Bonus: Groundhog Day (ft. Cee-Lo) (Mayday 2006)

Killer Mike - Burn

Some more of that "fight the power" hip hop. In related news, Killer Mike and El-P (from Company Flow) are working on a project together. Now that's going to be a piece of work unlike anything done before.

TiRon - What You Waiting For ft Ayomari

Another one of my favorite new artists dishing out some new material. Got my fingers crossed in hope that XXL gives him the credit he deserves this year.

Kanye West & Jay Z - H.A.M.

Speaking about weekly series, Kanye and Jay's first single to Watch the Throne dropped today. Is iiiight... I feel the two "kings" of hip hop can do better.

Download H.A.M.

Phil Ade - Phillin' Em

Another emcee jumping on the weekly series bandwagon. Normally i don't support these, with Good Fridays being an exception (since Mr. West did come up with the idea). But since Phil Ade is one of my new favorite artist, i'll give the man the credit he deserves on dropping some clean shit.

Download Phillin' Em

Phil Ade Fridays! I know its monday but you try blogging in the middle of winter session with two jobs.

Must Have Music: Wale - Ice and Rain

Never found out where this single landed. I'm guessing it was suppose to be for Attention Deficit (2009) but you know how labels can be. Always ruining music... The story for this song still gives me the chills.

Freddie Gibbs - It's All Cognac

Some old Gangsta Gibbs, which was supposed to be on his debut album that never hit the shelves. Lets hope he's got better luck on his new label.

Kids These Days - Darling (Video)

This crew is the shiznit. Chicago never lacks talented artists.

Pac Div - Let Loose

Another jam for the ladies by none other than the LA representatives. This group may actually be one of my new favorite trios to come out from the west coast in the last few years.
