Cratediggin': Earth, Wind, and Fire - Reasons

My personal favorite by Earth, Wind, and Fire. Off of That's The Way of The World (1975). Also, check out what Cam'ron did with the song. Always dope to hear some hip hop drums on a great sample.

Download Reasons

Talib Kweli - 1st Time ft. Consequence

This will be on his YearOfTheBlackSmith Community mixtape. You could never go wrong with a Marvin Gaye sample.

Download 1st Time

Kid Cudi - Marijuana

How much of the album is he going to release? I already have half the album! Man On The Moon 2 drops November 9th.

Another video for Statik Selektah and Termanology's 1982 album. Perfect video to set the halloween mood.

Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On

This is Lupe's first single off of Lasers. So then Shining Down, I'm Beaming, and Love Letter won't be on the album? Those were some dope tracks but that just means more new music!

Hope he doesn't have anymore problems with his label. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Must Have Music: Brand Nubian - Momma

Should've left this one for Mother's Day but then i thought to myself, "mom dukes deserves recognition 365 days out of the year!" (I know cheesy but still true). Anyways, here's a track about the one and only woman in your life who truly has your back. Off of Fire In the Hole (2004).

Download Momma

Gangrene (Alchemist & Oh No) - Not High Enough (Video)

Madlib's little brother, Oh No, and Alchemist are working together on their calaboration album titled, Gutter Water. Should be another dope album composed of two respectable producers/emcees.

You Can't Be Serious: Lemme Smang It (Smash + Bang)

If you need a closer next time you're spitting game at some girl, then this new saying will help you seal the deal. But really, I can't tell is this dude is being serious with this track... I fucks with the dance though!

You Can't Be Serious: 50 Cent and Soulja Boy Edition

Damn… Where do I begin? First of all, it looks as though this cover could belong to some black gay weird fetish magazine. One would think that 50 is talking the little Soulja boy hostage if it weren’t for the XXL on the top left. Since when did it become cool to rock the “prince of persia” look in designer jeans? This makes me want to take down my “Must Have Music” post with 50’s old stuff. And is Soulja Boy trying to cover his boner? This is some straight Gangstalicious shit… “homies over hoes!” I would add some more hate to the post, but I feel the entire Internet realm has done enough already. Good look getting out of this one 50.

This issue of XXL hits the newsstands Nov 2, but who the fuck cares?

Must Have Music: 88 Keys - Close Call (feat. Phonte)

This is just one of the many chapters found in 88 Keys' The Death of Adam album, which is actually a story of a young man who finds out the hard way, that sex isn't all that worth it. Find out what happen's next to Adam after his close encounter with fatherhood.

Bonus: Viagra (Stay Up!) ft Kanye West (The track where Adam gets his bang on)

Freeway – Escalators (prod. Jake One) (Video)

Although Jake One is on production, this is not off their calabo album The Stimulus Package. Instead, this song will be found on Freeways next project, titled Diamond in the Ruff.

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager (Artwork)

Mr. Ranger also breaks down his Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager album during his Complex magazine shoot. Check it out!

Nottz – Never Caught Slippin’ f. Snoop Dogg & Royce Da 5′9″

Really looking forward for this album, which drops next tuesday. Check the Snoop and Royce assisted track off the album. Nottz deserves the support for this work since he not only produces the beats, but spits fire on each track as well. Dope track with dope features.

STS - In For The Kill (video)

STS "IN FOR THE KILL" from Last Rights Creative on Vimeo.

This could be another potential Emcee for next years Freshmen list, but not sure if his fan base is built up enough. The rapper has got the skills, he just needs the marketing (although he's already got Black Thought pretty much co-signing him). But anyways, heres a video of him ripping over a sample from that one song I'm sure you're all familiar with.

Bonus: The Roots - Right On! ft. STS

Reflection Eternal - Long Hot Summer

Some more visual's brought to you by Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek, off of Revolutions Per Minute (2010).

Throwback Thrusday: Mos Def -Body Rock ft Q-Tip & Tash

This that classic old hip hop sound that only real hip hop heads love. This track is originaly off of the Rawkus Records' compilation, titled Lyricsist Lounge Vol. 1 (2002). Woah... 2002? I guess hip hop has changed that much where something that's not from the golden era sounds old school.

All City Chess Club (Asher Roth, Blu, B.o.B, Charles Hamilton, The Cool Kids, Diggy, Lupe Fiasco) – I’m Beamin’ (rmx)

Heres a remix to one of the dope singles that was suppose to be on the album. I was hoping J. Cole would be on this remix since he is part of the All City Chess Club, but the line-up is still pretty clean (Blu's on it!). And if you didn't hear the bad news already, Lupe's album Lazers may never hit the shelves due to his label being a bunch of nut gobblers.

Must Have Music: Blackalicious - 40 oz. for Breakfast

I'm sure the tittle for track alone will make you download it. Off of We Came From Beyond (2001), a random compilation of underground/indie hip hop artists. Zone out to this one.

Bonus: Atmosphere - 52 Pickup (some vintage/rare Atmosphere, which is also off of We Came From Beyond)

Kid Cudi - Maniac ft Cage

I found this track especially interesting because of the feature. Cage was one of those old underground rappers who rapped about killing and raping women. I thought he fell off the face of the planet, but i guess they found a market for him. None the less, solid track.

Download Maniac

Curren$Y - Audio Dope 2 (Video)

Some visuals off Spitta's last album Pilot Talk. I threw this track on the July Mix so check it out if you haven't already

Panty Droppers: Dead Prez - Mind Sex

Although they preach about spending some quality time together, you all know what this track leads to... Fuck politics! I'm out for Dead Prez to represent me! Off their first album Lets Get Free (2000)

Download Dead Prez - Mind Sex

Zion I - Many Stylez ft. Rebelution

Word??? Zion I and Rebelution on the same track!? Nice! This will be on Zion I's next album titled Atomic Clock. These two groups are touring together so catch'em if you can in your area.

Must Have Music: Phil Ade

This dude needs to be on XXL's next issue of 2011's freshmen. If not, then there is something seriously wrong with that magazine... Don't sleep on this dude! These two tracks are found off his first mixtape

Startin On JV (2009).

A track we can all relate to. Listen to that 3rd verse and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Fell good shit! Don't forget'em!

1982 (Statik Selektah & Termanology)

I got some good feelings about this album. Dope ass producer with and a solid emcee. Check these two visuals and expect some tracks on October's mix... Album drops on the 26th!

Must Have Music: 50 Cent - Rowdy Rowdy (Khrysis Mix)

This is a remix of 50's work back when he was signed to Colombia Records and before he got shot 9 times by someone with horrible aim. Say what you want about the man but this track is sick wit it! Beat by Hall Of Justice's Khrysis and you can find this track off of The Hall Of Justus Mixtape: The Singles Files which you can probably no longer find online... & sorry for the disturbing picture of 50's new look. It was either this one, or a bunch of other pictures where he's holing a firearm with his shirt off.

Yo Gotti – Look in the Mirror (rmx) f. J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa & Wale

I don't even know what to think... Don't let my opinion distort your own thoughts on the track but I'm just wondering what the hell J. Cole is doing rapping over this type of beat? He's lyrically there like always but I just don't know if this is what I wan't to hear from the man. I just really hope his managers aren't trying to see how far they can push it so they can appeal to a bigger crowd. Fuck it, why not add some variety to the mix...

Ab-Soul - Drift Away (Video)

Damn I might just be twisted out of my mind right now but this video was too sick! I caught on to this dude back in summer but these visuals just made my night! Why can't a genuine dude get a fine girl if his shit ain't up to date!? hahaha dope video for damn sure!

Panty Droppers: Pharoahe Monch - So Good

Why not add another slice to the blog? So in these particular posts, I plan to add some tunes that can be shared with that special someone or just for your own personal pleasure. Whether you chose to download these songs in order to relax to with your significant other or to just set the mood and better your chances of getting lucky, these are great additions to your itunes. Expect Hip Hop & Neo-Soul for this section.

In the first official "Panty Droppers" post I will go with one of my favorite slow jams of all time, Pharoahe Monch - So Good. Off of his sophomore album, Desire (2007). Thank me later (and no i'm not referencing Drake...)

Download So Good

Novel - Legato Blues Summer (Mixtape)

Rapper/singer/producer Novel dropped his 4th mixtape last week titled Legato Blues Summer. It took me a little to give the man a chance but I'm glad I finally did because he is one talented musician. Definitely looking forward to his debut album Calligraphy, which is dropping sometime in the near future.

Bonus: Suspended Animation (feat. Ced Hughes) & Mad World (Remix) (off of his 3rd mixtape Suspended Animation)
