GOOD Fridays!

So if you haven't heard the good news already, Yeezy's dropping some new shit every friday until December 25th. Last night to he came out with "Monster" which features Hov, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Bon Iver. Looks like we'll have something to look forward to for the next few months! Props to Lil aka OG Cat lady ;)

AND.... Jay-Z and Kanye are working together on a 5 track EP

Fashawn & DJ Skee – Grizzly City 3 (Mixtape)

Sorry it's been a while since the last post but i'll come back strong with this dope piece of work from no other than central CA's freshman (XXL) Fashawn. He definitely shows why he deserved the tittle with this one!

J. Cole It Won't Be Long (Prod. J. Cole)

Yup... Another track from this years illest freshman! Cool track but not his best work and not sure again wether it will make it on the album.

Bonus: J. Cole - I Got It (Some of his older stuff that sounds like it could be from his Come Up era)

Throwback Thursday -RTB Edition

Since Rock the Bells is this weekend I thought it was only fair to dedicate this week's Throwback Thurs to the headliners for this year's festival.

Wu-Tang Clan - CREAM

A Tribe Called Quest - Oh My God

Snoop Dogg

Make sure to cop your ticket while there's still some left. This will be a concert to remember!

Not such a great recipe for Tha Chef...

Our very loved Raekwon, yes from the 36 chambers of death, decided he would collaborate with Kanye West and... Wait for it.... JUSTIN BEIBER!!! Really??? Uhhhh... kinda speechless on this one but i'm sure he'll figure out how to rap about being a menace to society while Beiber serenades all his elementary school girl fans on the hook. What will they come up with next? God i just hope they don't auto tune their voices...

Nike SB Commercial (Nas & P-Rod)

First Ice Cube... Now Nas? The worlds best skater and the worlds best rapper come together in a new Nike SB commercial. Dope commercial. Makes me want to go out and buy some new Nike Boots!

What a clean nose blunt at the end...

G.O.O.D Music

Since all the G.O.O.D. albums will be dropping within the next few months (Kanye West, Big Sean, and Consequence on Sept 14 and Kid Cudi's on October 26) i thought it would a good idea to make a little mix of the label's new stuff coming out, along with a few old/unheard tracks. G.O.O.D. Music also has other artist/groups such as Common, Clipse (recently signed), and John Legend on the label.

Atmosphere - To All My Friends Tour

So Slug and Ant decided to get together once again to put out a single for their upcoming To All My Friends Tour. I'll be at their stop in Santa Cruz!

9th Wonder and David Banner

These two actually sound good together. 9th has that mellow distinct sound to his beats and David Banner kind of reminds me of Redman. They're dropping a project together titled Death of a Popstar, so if you liked 9th's project with Murs or Buckshot, then be on lookout for this next piece of work.

J. Cole - Blow Up (prod. J. Cole)

Damn J. Cole is nice with the beats too... Don't know if it's going to be on his debut album which is now set to drop in November (so much for him trying to get an earlier release date). Either way another Grown Simba track is definitely worth the DL.

Exile - Love Line ft. Blu

Another underground classic done by the two artist with that ill ass chemistry. These two need to put out another album together. Below the Heavens was the shit and there needs to be a sequel. Anyways this track is off of Exile's AM/FM which i believe is a bunch of remixes to his Radio project. I guess he's just putting dope Emcees over his beats that he strictly sampled off the radio.

Kanye West – See Me Now f. Beyonce & Charlie Wilson (prod. Kanye West x No I.D. x Lex Luger)

Kanye's second single off his upcoming album (?). Track is nice and will be getting mad rotation in my whip. Can't wait for album! Sept 14th!!!

Previous Power (video)

K-os - Faith ft. Drake

Dope track off of K-os' new The Anchorman Mixtape which is actually filled with Ron Burgundy's famous quotes. Drake actually sounds good on this track. Looks like he went with his old flow (if only he did this on everything he put out, but then again he wouldn't make millions making girl's panties wet). And as for K-os, he never disappoints.

Throwback Thursday - Artifacts

My favorite track off of Between a Rock and a Hard Place, by the two man group (Tame One & El Da Sensei). Dope video as well.

Trill OG = 2010's Illmatic?

I think not... but according to The Source (Hip Hop's Bible), Bun B's recent Trill OG album deserves to be mentioned with the other classics (Illmatic, Me Against the World, The Chronic, etc). With a perfect rating of 5 Mics, Trill OG has become the last album to be classified as a perfect classic since Lil Kim's The Naked Truth (2005) (wtf right????). Anyways I picked up my own copy, gave the album a chance and was not too convinced this album is the best piece of work thats come out in the last 5 years. Either way the album gets better every time i play it so I may be wrong on giving it less credit than it MAY deserve.

What The Source has to say...

In addition: I randomly ran into this article and found what this dude had to say real interesting... Did Bun B’s “Trill O.G.” Really Deserve 5 Mics?

Kanye West - Power (Video)

Some new visuals for Yeezy's single Power off of the album that WAS going to be called G.O.O.D. Ass Job. Who knows what tittle he'll come up with, but regardless, big producers such as Dj Premier and Pete Rock say that the album is "strictly hard beats and rhymes". Album comes out September 14, save the date!

Looks like he upgraded his Jesus Piece

J. Cole - Problems

This actually came out like a week ago but here it is incase you missed it. Don't know if it's going to be on the album but I read that it's an unfinished version and a girl would maybe be on the hook. Still a dope track though and worth the listen. Enjoy!

Fashawn - The Ecology (Music Video)

One of my favorite tracks off of Boy Meets World. Another one of XXL's 2010 freshmen who actually deserved the title. The album is completely produced by Exile so if you were feeling that Below the Heavens (Blu & Exile) then this is a solid purchase. Props to the Central CA rapper for the much needed video.

Salvia Experiment

Lmao!!! This shit made my day! for all of you who know him, this is straight classic. If there's one thing to take from this is video it's: Bongs and Salvia DON'T mix! Especially the "fire starter"

Bet you he won't do that again...

Freddie Gibbs Str8 Killa EP

This shit is Str8 Gangsta!!! Freddie Gibbs is actually one of the better 2010 XXL Freshmen and deserves a listen if you haven't heard him yet. If you like hearing rappers talk about cookin' up yayo, slayin' mad hoes, and being Mary Jane's true love... then this shit right here... this shit right here, is what you need! (PS: it's not all just about those 3 topics, check out Rock Bottom (ft. Bun B) to get a taste of his more personal side)

Download Str8 Killa No Filla (Mixtape for the EP) to get a taste of what the Str8 Killa EP may sound like

Wale - More About Nothing

DC's Wale drops yet another great mix tape for the true fans. Since he can't really talk about controversial issues on his studio albums (4 tracks actually didn't make the album because of this), then this is where the talented emcee can really vent away. His Mixtape About Nothing (2008) was instant vintage so make sure and download the sequel!
